Owner Derek Nieto
|
When Derek Nieto first visited Texas, it was love
at first sight. He had finally found the place that he could feel comfortable enough to settle down and raise his family. After
fifteen (15) years of working for other companies in the construction industry, he also felt the time was right to fulfill his dream of starting his own company. It was the perfect opportunity for him put all the different skills he had perfected to use. This was the field he knew the best and enjoyed the most. There was no question in Derek’s mind; he would start a full service rain gutter
business.

In November of 2007, Derek moved his family to
Benbrook, Texas. Armed with a pick up truck full of tools and a seamless gutter
fabrication machine in tow, Derek set out to establish his business in the
community. Running advertisements in local newspapers and on-line communities, Derek and the Benbrook Gutter Company were
even featured in multiple “Business in the Spotlight” editions of
the Benbrook/Western Hills News by Suburban Newspapers, Inc. As it turns out, it
seems that Derek’s best advertisement is actually the work it self. He quickly established himself in the community, while networking with community contacts and business owners. After the
initial promotion, much of the business today is generated through word of
mouth: a satisfied customer telling a friend or neighbor about their positive
experience with the Benbrook Gutter Company.
Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Derek enlisted the United States Marine
Corps. Upon discharge he moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked
with a highly respected gutter company. It was there that he developed his
interest with rainwater drainage systems and gained hands on experience in
the field. Industrious, Derek also worked at the Washington State
Reformatory as a Correctional Supervisor in a vocational
program. After several years in Seattle; a chance at career
advancement returned Derek to Phoenix where he joined the Arizona
Carpenter’s Union and became a Master Carpenter. While employed with a
Phoenix based construction company, he worked on various millwork (cabinets) projects. This position gave him experience on projects at the Phoenix
Zoo, Redrock Resort and various casinos in Las Vegas; he also performed
civil engineering for millwork at Google’s corporate office in Tempe,
Arizona and at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The final position he
held with the company before moving to Benbrook, was that of Project
Manager were he was responsible for managing the cost, time, and scope of
numerous construction projects from the planning through the completion
stages.
Although
the company has grown a little since its original conception (it’s no longer
just Derek). It’s still the same family owned and oriented company it always has
been. The original objective that Derek envisioned remains the same, “To provide
high quality workmanship at a reasonable cost for all of your home and/or business
rain gutter needs.”
From rain
gutter maintenance and cleaning, repair or removal of existing rain
gutters or down spouts, installation of gutter leaf guard systems, or the fabrication and installation of new rain drainage systems –
The Benbrook Gutter Company does it all.
